What can you expect from canoeing on the Roer?
From Schurenhof, you step into a canoe and paddle into the Roerdal area. During the approximately two-hour trip, you follow the river along green banks and quiet natural surroundings. Along the way, you may spot wildlife such as a beaver or a kingfisher. From June 1 onwards, canoeing is available almost daily. If you would like more background about the area, you can book a guide. Advance reservation is required.
Take a break at the farmhouse
After canoeing, you can relax on the farmhouse terrace. You sit close to the water and enjoy Limburg pie, homemade pastries and regional products. If the weather turns, the indoor space ‘het Kippenhok’ offers a comfortable place to sit.
Starting point for more outdoor activities
Schurenhof is also the starting point for walking and cycling routes in the border region. If you enjoy fishing, you can obtain day or weekly permits for the Roer here.
